Recently I discovered picclick.com, a great way to browse all the wonderful items on etsy.com using. Picclick.com is a visual search engine that looks like this...

Pictures of the items for sale on etsy.com appear in order by newest listing, although you can search by category, keyword, price range, or by oldest listing.

You can visually search other websites using picclick.com as well including, ebay, amazon.com, and my second favorite allrecipes.com. But, be careful, because this could make you very hungry.

Sometimes I end up with t-shirts that are cool, but for whatever reason won't make a very good scarf. During the first MLS season of the Seattle Sounders FC I stumbled upon an older Sounders t-shirt at the Goodwill and decided it would be a good idea to add it to the scarf collection.

Making scarves from the logos portions of t-shirts leaves me with lots of scraps. And, since I hate to throw anything away, I try to find a second use for my left over pieces.

Sleeves get cut off and go into my "rag bag", but the extra backs and fronts create a lot of reusable material, which has led to my experiments with screen printing.

I took a screen printing workshop last year from John and Michelle Osgood of Bherd Studios in West Seattle.

Is it me or are there a lot of embellished tank tops in the stores this spring/summer? Flirty ruffles, shimmering metallic details, and chunky studs or stones seem to be all over the place, such as on this top, from the Point of View department at Nordstrom.

After neglecting my large bin of t-shirts for far too long, I've finally finished four new sports scarves including a Washington Husky, WSU Cougar, retro Seattle Seahawks, and another Seattle Mariners scarf for my etsy shop.

Of course I really stocked up on Seattle Mariner's t-shirts last fall (enough for at least 4 more scarves, sigh), because of how great the team would be this season.

About Me
I'm Maren and I inherited the "project" gene. While this probably isn't a scientific term, I believe it is why I am constantly starting (and usually finishing) new projects. I focus most of my efforts on various crafts, sewing, art, home decor, recycled materials and anything else that peaks my curiosity.
