Ever since I saw the t-shirt shrug project on cutoutandkeep.com I knew I had to add this to my to do list. This is a great, very easy way to give new life to an old t-shirt (long or short sleeve) or turtleneck.

Step one find a t-shirt. This is the long sleeve t-shirt I started with:

Next cut a straight line down the middle front of the t-shirt (careful not to cut the back) and cut around the edge of neck band.

Then turn inside out, fold over raw edges ~1" to form casing, pin in place and sew.

Pull ribbon or cord of your choice through the casing with a safety pin.

Jeff and I had tickets to last night's Seattle Mariner's game and luckily I finished this classic summer top just in time.

This is actually one of three retro Mariner's tops I now own/have created, which either makes me a huge fan or slightly confused since they haven't used the trident logo in at least 25 years. I secretly hope they will realize a return to royal blue and yellow is just what is needed to turn this year around! (A better bullpen and a little bit of hitting couldn't hurt either.

It's been a busy couple weeks and tomorrow we leave for what I hope will be a relaxing couple of days in San Diego. But, I did manage to get a start on an idea for a "wall installation" I've been wanting to try for a while.

Several months ago I purchased a box of assorted, old jar lids from an artist. Here are a view samples:

Who doesn't love "delicious" Kraft Macaroni and Cheese?

I love the look of these lids and am trying to successfully display them as a group.

About Me
I'm Maren and I inherited the "project" gene. While this probably isn't a scientific term, I believe it is why I am constantly starting (and usually finishing) new projects. I focus most of my efforts on various crafts, sewing, art, home decor, recycled materials and anything else that peaks my curiosity.
