Turning a Holey Cardigan into a Cozy Scarf
I was recently the lucky recipient of a bunch clothes that a twenty-something family friend was tossing out. I scored a couple of very cute cardigans and sweaters, including this animal print-style spotted wool cardigan. (This photo on a light-colored counter top doesn't really do it justice.)
Unfortunately, this cardigan didn't make it out of her storage unit alive. The moths got to it...
I hated to see this go to waste, so I decided this cardigan deserved a second chance at life as a new scarf.
The material is 100% wool, so I decided to felt it in the wash first. I washed it on hot and then tossed it into the dryer. (Any natural fiber sweater will felt in the wash, but not synthetics like polyester or rayon.)
Next I cut it into assorted squares and rectangles.
