I was recently the lucky recipient of a bunch clothes that a twenty-something family friend was tossing out. I scored a couple of very cute cardigans and sweaters, including this animal print-style spotted wool cardigan. (This photo on a light-colored counter top doesn't really do it justice.)

Unfortunately, this cardigan didn't make it out of her storage unit alive. The moths got to it...

I hated to see this go to waste, so I decided this cardigan deserved a second chance at life as a new scarf.

The material is 100% wool, so I decided to felt it in the wash first. I washed it on hot and then tossed it into the dryer. (Any natural fiber sweater will felt in the wash, but not synthetics like polyester or rayon.)

Next I cut it into assorted squares and rectangles.

I've never been a fan of jewelry. I don't have (and never have had) my ears pierced. I rarely if ever wear necklaces. It took a long time to get used to my wedding ring (and I still take it off at night). And, for a very long time having anything on my wrist was incredibly annoying, but that changed a short time ago.

A family friend returned from a trip to Mexico with a large stash of jewelry. Everything from silver and turquoise rings and bracelets to shell bead necklaces.

Last weekend was a great weekend for football in the Northwest. Huskies won, Seahawks won, for half a game it seemed like the Ducks were going to lose, and the Cougars...well...at least they did win, right? As a Husky fan I usually don't care (to put it nicely) about the Cougars, but losing to Montana State would've been embarrassing for everyone. I mean that would've taken "Couging it" to a whole new level.

I was fortunate enough to enjoy the Husky vs.

We're all trying to do our part by bringing our own bags with us to the grocery store, drug store, or just any store.

Fall, my favorite season, is finally here. The season for turning leaves, pumpkins, tall boots, Halloween, and of course FOOTBALL! Today all other sports are dead to me (although the Mariners having been playing like a bunch of corpse for a while anyway), because Husky football begins at 4pm against BYU.

Quick side note on that...I'm a little peeved that the only channel showing the game is CBS College Sports, which I (and many NW viewers) do not get.

About Me
I'm Maren and I inherited the "project" gene. While this probably isn't a scientific term, I believe it is why I am constantly starting (and usually finishing) new projects. I focus most of my efforts on various crafts, sewing, art, home decor, recycled materials and anything else that peaks my curiosity.
